on this november day…

hello my dearest hollie,

it has been far too long. today is tuesday, election day and i sit here thinking of many things and many things to come. i will be voting today but right now i sit alone, with sweet sounds filling my ears and just taking in this moment. so much has been going on, i have really tried to be busy artistically too. i’ve been working on my littlebighead blog, recording my daily life at owlacrobat, adding original works to the shop and i even started a new little shop just for crafty things. nat and i have been busy also, doing little projects here and there. yesterday we completely our bee hive which we both are absolutely thrilled with. i posted it on my new bee themed blog, bee haunting.

the weather here has finally began to cool a bit and i was thrilled to wake this morning knowing that it had rained through out the night. walking outside the door, it was bright, beautiful with vestiges of the night’s rain, including the wonderful smell of dampened earth. speaking of seasons, i have kept a watchful eye on the 45 tree and it is still green, it has yet to turn gold and red. i am just waiting for it…

this weekend should proved to be adventurous and fun. we will be leaving early saturday morning to sedona, arizona with my parents. i am looking forward to it and i know it will be cold! there may be snow and i hope there is because natalie has never seen snow. it will be quite exciting for her and for us as well! i know snow might not be that big of a deal to you, since you do get to see it

hello dear hollie,

natalie is at school right now so i have a few moments of quiet and solitude (that you sometimes need as a mom. well, as any human i suppose!) i’ve been meaning to write you since it’s been awhile. i am still drawing and trying to get the shop up. i haven’t had any new orders lately but that’s okay. i’ve been busy with various things, various endeavors. i’ve been blogging alot on demeter though i am still a bit irked why my photos are not coming up (i originally exceeded my photo limit but thought i had fixed that). that’s pretty much a life blog, writing about things that we are doing and what not. i recently began a new livejournal, owlacrobat, where i think it might be more personal. random thoughts, some photos and artwork. sometimes i just need a place to be a little more than the everyday things. i know that doesn’t make much sense, but i get it.

another reason why i’ve been meaning to write to you is because of a tree. yes, a tree. everyday while driving nat to school i take the same street that are lined with trees. one in particular always stands out to me. i call it the “45″ tree because right in front of it is the speed limit sign. this tree is my tree. since natalie started going to school i’ve seen that tree change with each season. i seen it turn orange, red and gold and then bare and skeletal for fall and winter. then! with the arrival of spring, beautiful white, fluffy blossoms! now with the onset of summer, it is full in it’s greenery. i think of you often when i see this tree and i am reminded of the changing of seasons. i hope you are well and i hope this brought a lovely little visual to you.

hey hollie,

things here have still been a bit crazy. well, not to crazy but you know what i mean. i’ve been working on seedlings a lot lately and i have finally created my one (and hopefully last) personal blog, demeter.  i just received my new buttons that i made to donate to etsy for animals. don’t worry though, your card is on the list of things to do this week. i tend to get a bit of a one track mind when i ‘discover’ a new endeavor. i do always have wanderpost on the mind though…

i must tell you, your new cards look great. how is everything with the studio coming along?

wow, it sounds like you have your hands full with all this studio business! as for me, this weekend was a bit busy.  rick had went to vegas to see this amazing band called gogol bordello with some friends from work.  it was nat and i for the weekend and we went to target to get a few things when i saw a little girl’s tent that included a sleeping bag, back pack, water bottle and headband all for $12.48 on sale. it was wonderful! we set it up in the den and watched the pirates of the caribbean movies with my parents. later that night we set it up on top of my bed and camped out in for the night! it was a very cold and windy day so i am we ended up staying in but now i do have a cold. my immune system just loves getting sick i tell you! i haven’t even been able to draw anything. i still have photos i need to upload, to share but i did get to listen to the cd you gave me. i loved everything! we have the same taste in music and though i did recognize some of the songs but some i didn’t. if you could, can you post the names of the songs with the artists? well my friend, i want to share pics with you and more but i have to get back to other things. i will make some time and i will be sending out your card soon. and by the way, your card was amazing!! i really need to step up my game!!

new illo

so i just got a new studio space! i talked to paula ( the lady who owns the gallery i work at one day a week) because i decided i needed a better place to work and produce more because y’ know…i dont want to have another job:) and working in the 4′x4′ space i am in now is not conducive to getting a lot of work done. nor are the white carpets and dark environment.so she is giving me the 2 back room is exchange for repainting the walls, until June ( at least) or whenever they have the time to finish it up so they can rent it.(i’m getting ahead of myself…there are two rooms behind the galery…basically an efficiency apartment, that they have decided to re-do and rent out. but they rent going to do it for a few months because they want to get the upstairs 2 floor apartment ready to rent first. she and her husband had been living upstairs until they finished their house…which is finished, and they moved out last week). how exciting! i’m going to have a real studio…and peope around too since there is alay someone mannin gthe gallery up front. a unch of women, artists, that help her run the place. everyone works a day to have a space to sel their things consignment free.so as of next weekish i’ll get to be there everyday painting…and start producing more. plus i just got a present…well its on its way. a printer/scanner combo that looks rad! so i think it’s time for me to pony-up!work on cards to put on here…to send…to sell. i OVE the links you sent …so insirational and fun…i will write more tomorrow…but i a=had to share the exciting studio news with you! i hope you are feeling better. sometimes those wcky limbo-weather days make me feel icky too.  but whateve is making you feel icky…weather or a bug…drink tea, cuddle up and get well  xohollie
