stupid apartment-pet-laws!
oh my friend,
i love your last posts! i know exactly what you mean about being, shall i dare say, a bit of a creative schizophrenic! i believe it’s natural, when you have a creative soul, there is so much you want to do, so much you want to impart. i am the exact same way but yes, there are times when we have to buckle down a bit and hold on to one or two things at time so we don’t find ourselves too thinned out.
i am so happy you received my card! i have my second one to send out to you soon. speaking of packages, i just received my hand made plushie created just for me by a friend i met on myspace, munano! i had drew this pirate owl illustration and thought he would amazing as a stuffed creature. she stepped up to the plate and we did a nice little trade. i am so excited, he is too adorable! wait until nattie comes home from school and sees it. she is going to love it!

i thought about you last saturday. we had to go to the local fruit market to get some things and right behind it is a local nursery. we strolled around, looking at the wonderful colors and variations of flora, so lovely! we had to run a few more errands afterwards and one stop was to lowe’s so that we could pick up some tools to help weed out the dandelion’s in my parent’s yard. natalie and i took the opportunity right away to walk through the nursery there as well. obviously it was much larger and it was such a delight for nat and i. the sun was bright and softly illuminating the flowers and plants and there was such a wonderful, subtle aroma wafting around us. ah, nature! we need more of it!

i can’t wait to have our own place so that nat and i can have our own little garden including some nice little plants inside the house as well. i have one, actually, sitting here on my computer desk. i got it from my nephew’s baby shower last year. it’s doing quite nicely here
i have more to share but i am off to do some duties!
xoxo!
p.s. tell me more about your flesh eating garden! i’m jealous, i’ve been wanting some venus fly traps and such for awhile. thats the little quirkiness that resides in me i suppose ![]()
i just wanted to jot a quick note! i just got home, the wind blowing like a hurricane outside whipping my hair into knots and my sinuses into dizziness! i ALMOST forgot to get the mail, but Im glad I didn’t because your wonderful little post came today!Smiles al the way! I love the button, the cards…the postcard…all of it! the colors and nostalgic feel fit the mood of my day…how did you know! it’s already up on my wall! I have to ask you…where do you get your postcards made…and how did you make your button? did you get a button maker ? i have been trying hard to find one withot havig t order it ( i dont have a credit card so i have to order other ways….i really should get one for emergency craft needs
morning!another rainy weekend here… i keep seeing these soft-sculpture birds on different pages and i just found out they are made by abby at ‘while she naps’thay are so cool…and they make me want to put down the paint and paper and sew! sew! sew! i’ve been struggling with this again…this urge to do 20 different things at once. i see something and i think “oh! i should try that!”…and then i go off on another creative tangent, only to realize i have half-a-dozen projects that actually would pay me if i finished them! i feel like if i could just stick to one medium; focus on one idea…i’d be better off. less scatterbrained.but it’s so boring to do just one thing, isn’t it?!well..this is just a quick post. one of those things is to do the last day of that mural i was telling you about. but i’ve been putting it off….weather has been soooooo icky here. rainy. cold. blah. but i have to get it done…if for no other reason than i need the money.hope all is well with you this first weekend in march…i’m excited to get your letter!!!xo
i love her.how sweet…I’m glad you shared it with me. it reminds me that easter is coming ( and chocolate and coloring eggs and crocus and easter lilies!).It’s actually sunny here today in PA. It is also the one day I work…I wish I had more to type this morning, but I am still having overnights-out because they still haven’t fixed my gas-leak problem. I may have to just up and leave…as much as I hate to move again. The litle gallery that I work in on Fridays has a apartment (that used to be part of the store) behind it, and I have to go in and talk to the owner today and see what she says about renting it out ( and if she reads this blog before i get to work…she will already know…hehe).Tonight will be exciting though. I’m not sure what they do on the left coast, but around here we have first fridays. Most of them are pretty boring ( because there aren’t many places that have enough galleries/restaurants/shops in close proximity to one another. But Lancaster, PA has come quite far in their First Friday events. So I get to go with my Dad ( who lives in Lancaster) and a friend of my Fathers to eat good Italian food and peruse the galleries and shops after work! I’m very excited. I’ve made some disks of work to take along and I’ll be armed with my new business cards and cd’s of my work…just in case I find an opportunity. as a side-note…i tried logging onto the page you sent…the word count page…it looks cool. but although my login and password worked, it kept telling me that i was an “unidentified user”…so i mailed them and their response was “we’ve never had that happen before…how weird. try setting up anopther account” haha. so I’ll be trying again.Thats all for now…I have to get ready for work…more importantly the first Mango-Mama smoothie of the season from Market, before work;)Have a lovely Friday.xo

h., i wanted to show you our little family project we stumbled upon a few weeks ago. we were babysitting natalie’s classroom rabbit for a weekend and it ended up being over for a week and a half due to nat getting sick. anyhow, we were all smitten by it’s cute little brown bunny-ness. one day rick was playing with natalie when she came and showed me this rabbit rick had cut out of yellow construction paper. i thought it was such a great silhouette so i got my quill pen and ink i just purchased that day and drew in the eye, the nose and little accents here and there. i also had some cute black ribbon with white dots and adorned the neck with it. the next day i cut out some various heart shapes (those pretty patterned ones where from a recent paper source catalog) and had nat glue them on. so here it is, our yellow rabbit, our family project since we all had a hand in it!
hello H!
i have finally sent out your card and short letter yesterday so i am hoping you get it before the weekend. the way you describe the season changing over there sounds so wondrous! here, all of our seasons kind of meld together. it’s been warming up again and it certainly looks like spring which is nice. last week it was terribly hot in the beginning and then it became cold, dreary and rainy. that’s california for you.
i have so many things to catch up and so many things to do and maintain. that’s life though, right?! i have two books i’ve been reading forever (well, not forever, just not having much time to finish them). the first is the widow of the south by robert hicks and the second is marie antoinette the journey by antonia fraser. i really need to complete those because my husband has two more books for me to read (the road by cormac mcCarthy and another i can’t remember the name of). that’s not including my own list of reads too! i’ve been drawing too, trying to keep those creative juices flowing. i am quite happy with the last two things i’ve done. it’s just hard sometimes juggling ‘me’ time with creative time with family time and so forth. somehow i’ll manage, i suppose. we all do, don’t we?
well, as the internet junkie i am (it really is a vice for me), i have created a new journal. actually two, but it’s blogging with a twist. it’s a site called word count journal and the challenge is to write everyday of the year but starting with one word on the first day, two words on the second day and so forth. i’m kind of interested to see how my blogs will turn out. i created two, nimble press and curious forest. they don’t look like much now but it will be interesting to see how they evolve.
it’s funny, even with how busy things get my mind is always trying to do new things, getting involved with new things. stories are constantly coming up for characters i’ve created. i always want to do a new site or blog. it’s crazy how i just want to do all these things, create new things. this will be a great outlet for it. i am so excited. there is so much more to share but for now i must go and tend to other responsibilites.
until next time my friend,
a.
p.s. that three potato four site is pretty neat, thanks for sharing it!!
